Jogging like any other sport can become boring if done in the same manner day after day. On their jogging days they put on the same shoes and outfit, ran the same route for the same period of time at the same speed. Some people lose their motivation for jogging because their original goals were not met. Perhaps they wanted to jog a certain distance at a certain speed and was just never able to achieve it and got discouraged. If you happen to be one of these people you need to remember speed is not essential in jogging. You are still going to get the same great health benefits whether you are a slow jogger or a fast jogger. Don't compete against yourself. Make jogging a fun exercise that you know is good for your body and mind.

Sometimes to give yourself added jogging motivation you can start jogging with a partner or group of people. It is usually pretty easy to find someone to jog with you if you just ask around. A friend or family member may even be interested. When jogging with others don't make it a competition. Have some interesting and entertaining conversation together as you jog along, or point out different things to each other. Another great benefit when jogging with others is the swap off of jogging motivation. Maybe one day you don't feel like jogging but your partner gives you the encouragement to go ahead and participate. Other days you may be the one having to give the motivation.
